Holy cow I've totally not updated in so long oh fuck

It's cool that it's been a fortnight, since that means I can say fortnight... but it's also sorta not, cuz it's been a fortnight.

So, hmm... what's happened. I've read 4 Harry Potter books, 1-3 over and 6, and I've played through Grandia 2 and a smidge of Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter -- but ever time I write an entry like this I always manage to make it not seem at all interesting, cuz I list everything. How can I avoid this..?

Maybe it will come to me :/

I played about five, six hours of the original Grandia, over at my friend Jason's. I was getting into it all right, though I suppose if there were one RPG that I would want to play through, it would be Wild Arms 3.

grandia the original is a great game... grandia 2 is really ridiculous.

Also, Wild Arms 3 is fairly fun, but the bonus stuff is a real letdown.

Wild Arms 1 on the other hand, is the best traditional RPG on the Playstation. Natch.

1: disagree strongly.

Suikoden series? Hello? WA1 was a good game and all, but up against that kind of stuff, it's really no contest.

well, at least you're not denying that it's good.

dunno if I agree with about Suikoden, though.

Suikoden was awesome. But I've never had a better time playing an RPG than with Wild Arms (on the Playstation at least). I'm not sure I can put my finger on why.

which is not in any way to belittle or negate the enjoyment of your experience. Just to say that, as a Johnnie, you really ought to know that if you can't articulate why, there's no reason to suppose it a fact!

Just to mention RPG's that no else has, I enjoy an occasional Parasite Eve, some Star Ocean: The Second Story, and every now and again, I might throw down with Arc the Lad or some old school Final Fantasy. You know how that is, I'm sure.

Arc and I have never met, but otherwise I heartily approve... you might wanna add some breath of fire and dragon warrior for seasoning, but only if you like it spicy :p

I tend to stick with my older Breath of Fire games; I've got BoF 1 and 2 on my computer. Never have I played a Dragon Warrior, to tell you the truth. I'll probably start with the SNES ones, just because I feel like I should play a series from the beginning (when possible)to see where improvements have been made and whatnot.

better start with the NES ones, then. I think the series made the jump to 16-bit with Dragon Warrior V, though it might have been later...

actually... there is, in fact, a dragon warrior vii for ps1, which is nifty and fun. I think I bought it last summer in a fit of a nostalgic purchase.

All you have to do is make stuff up.

Breath of Fire kind of roCKS, I havn't played that game in so long. Btw, read harry potter 4 or 5, probably the best ones, imo.

best including the newest one? I'm gonna get to them, eventually.. should've mentioned that it'll be the second time around for them too, though.

So what did you think of 6?

Grandia II was alright... I bought it, for $5.99 new, which is really interesting because at the time it was going for $50 ... they screwed up. I bought it on a whim not sure if I'd like it. I never finished it, which explains a bit, but it did get me through a pretty crappy part of my life.

I'm generally in favor of finishing games, even if it's after a while... are you going to, ever? :/

I have it for PC (don't know if it was made for anything else) and for some reason, my computer will no longer run it. It's the same computer, same OS as the first tiem I had it installed. I decided to give it another go a couple months back and no matter what I did, it just wouldn't run. Actually, when I think about it, I may have switched video cards in that time. The new one is nicer, of course, so I think it'd still run it, but some games are card-specific (like all of the old Voodoo only games.) So, if I could, I definitely would finish it. Right now, I'm working on Chrono Cross for the PS.

Chrono Cross is pretty awesome.

And, damn... that pretty sucks.
